On June 29, 2015, the official graduation ceremony for the graduates of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation that is a division of Astrakhan State University took place.

A number of distinguished guests, including Mr. Claude Durand (Head of the Inter-Institutional Relations & International Cooperation Unit of the Directorate General for Interpretation of the European Commission), Mr. Vitaliy Gutman (Minister of Education & Science of the Astrakhan Region), Mr. Teymuraz Ramishvili (Director of the Language Support Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Mr. Askhat Syzdykov (Consul of Kazakhstan in Astrakhan), Mr. Ali Mohammadi (Consul General of Iran in Astrakhan), Mr. Mekan Ishangulyyev (Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan), and Mr. Adalyat Guseynov (Chairman of the Astrakhan Branch of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress), attended the ceremony. Prof. Olga Egorova, who supervises the Master programs of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation, gave a presentation to demonstrate the achievements and prospects of training qualified interpreters and translators at this educational institution. This year, three of its graduates have successfully passed an aptitude test at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; they are to work either at the Ministry HQ in Moscow, or with its units outside Russia. Both trainers and students of the Caspian School assisted in the organization of the 4th Caspian Summit where five Presidents of the Caspian littoral states met (it was held in Astrakhan last autumn). The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has written a letter of thanks for the top level assistance rendered by the staff and students of the School during the 4th Caspian Summit; Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the five Caspian countries have highly appreciated their work, too. Mr. Ramishvili has pointed out that the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation is developing so dynamically and successfully thanks to active support of both the Administration of Astrakhan State University and the Government of the Astrakhan Region.

This is the third time that a group of qualified specialists has graduated from the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation. Let us wish them a successful career!
