All-Russian Forum of Students Completed
On May 23, the final session of the All-Russian Forum of Students “Quality of Education: International Experience & Best Russian Practices” held at Astrakhan State University has taken place.
The Forum participants have visited master classes at the Technopark of ASU, at its Center of Creative Industries and at its Art Salon, as well as a practical workshop at the Center of Robotics & Medical Instrument Engineering, the training seminar “Cognitive Science in Education”, and the master class “International Etiquette”. The atmosphere of interactive cooperation has dominated the entire event, which has proved that a unique research and educational environment has been created at Astrakhan State University.
Both the participants and the experts have emphasized a high level of the event arrangement by the hosting institution at the closing ceremony. Mr. Antoniy Shvindt, Chairman of the Commission for Issues of Quality of Education of the Ministry of Education & Science of the Russian Federation, has remarked that the current Forum has made it possible to establish tight links between student unions of foreign and Russian universities and to exchange experience in applying new mechanisms in order to arrange the constantly changing model of education. He has also announced the All-Russian Forum of Students and the Caspian Educational Forum to be held in Astrakhan in September 2015.
A resolution has been approved at the closing ceremony unanimously. It reflects the main points of the education quality strategy that considers both with international experience and with the best Russian practices. In particular, it remarks that students must be key subjects of education quality enhancement activities within a system of practice-oriented education; they ought to be actively involved in assessment of educational programs, in carrying out various tasks to design and create new products during their execution of integrated academic projects; they are also to contribute to the development of teamwork, mentoring and tutoring activities at their universities.
A briefing session related to issues of quality of education has been arranged for reps of media at the end of the Forum; students of our Department of Philology & Journalism have participated in it actively.
