Our Students Win Prizes at National Contest in Turkish Language

In late April 2015, the National Contest in Turkish Language has taken place in St.-Petersburg. Students of the Department of Foreign Languages of Astrakhan State University have won prizes at this event.

The current Contest has been dedicated to two anniversaries: the 160th anniversary of the Faculty of Asian and African Studies and the 180th anniversary of the Department of Turkish Philology of Saint-Petersburg State University. About 500 participants from 30 Russian universities have taken part in the Contest this year. As for students of Astrakhan State University, they have been participating in this event actively for nine years. In particular, Maria Loseva, one of our students, has taken the 1st place in the nomination “Recitation of Poems in Turkish”. As for Nadezhda Marmentyeva, she has taken the 1st place in the nomination “Performance of Song in Turkish”. Liliya Petrova has won the 2nd place in the nomination “Translation & Interpretation Contest” after demonstrating her high level of language and interpretation skills. All our three prize winners have been granted diplomas of honor.
