Final of UMNIK Contest

In middle May, the final selection of innovative projects participating in the UMNIK Federal Program has been held in Astrakhan Region.

Students and young scientists aged 18-28 have taken part in the event; each of them has presented the jurors their projects in one of the five fields (ICT, medicine of the future, modern materials and their production technologies, new devices and hardware, biotechnologies), which have been tried at one of Astrakhan Region’s top four institutions of higher education. As a result of the preliminary expertise, 50 authors of the best project have reached the final stage.

16 winners of the program have been determined as a result of the final defense of the 50 projects; each of the winners shall obtain financial support of their projects for two years, as well as a certificate to get a professional consultation and prepare an official application to have their intellectual property patented.

The Organizing Committee would like to thank the Ministry of Education & Science of Astrakhan Region, Astrakhan State Technical University, Astrakhan State Medical University, and the Astrakhan Institute of Engineering & Construction for their assistance to arrangement of this event.

  • Shamil Atuev “Development of Technology to Obtain Welded Joints by Means of Friction Welding with Mixing of Composite Materials”;
  • Timur Kuanshkaliev “Development of System to Collect & Transfer Fish Biting Data via Radio Channel”;
  • Alexander Savkin “Development of Navigation Device for People with Malfunctions of Visual Apparatus”;
  • Adelya Baymukhametova “Development of Technology to Obtain Bactosoil Fertilizer Based on Bacillus Genus Bacteria for Agricultural Crops”.
