Career Day & Vacancies Fair at Agrarian Department of ASU

Future specialists in five demanded agricultural professions have learnt much about their opportunities of employment at Astrakhan Region’s authorities and services.

The two events have been arranged by Astrakhan State University; they have been backed by the Ministry of Agriculture & Fishery of Astrakhan Region, by the Regional Veterinary Service, by the Regional Directorate of the Federal Technical Supervision Service, and by a number of agriculture administration units of local municipalities.

The Career Day has been opened by Prof. Vladimir Vorobyov, Acting Dean of the Agrarian Department of ASU. In his welcoming speech, he has remarked that our future agronomists, veterinarians, economists and managers proficient in agriculture, and agricultural machine operators will get their diplomas of higher education within a very short time; they will work in one of the key industries of our country. His speech has been followed by that of Mr. Andrey Timofeev, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture & Fishery of Astrakhan Region, who has given a presentation related to achievements and prospects of Astrakhan Region’s agricultural industry.

A whole number of officials administering agricultural issues in Astrakhan Region’s municipalities (veterinary supervision, farming, economy and management in agriculture, etc.) have told our students about employment opportunities throughout Astrakhan Region, which are indeed worthwhile. All the officials have pointed out that young specialists are of acute need for the regional agriculture, as they have modern knowledge and as they are well-prepared to develop and carry out their bold and ambitious plans.

All in all, 48 vacancies have been offered to our future specialists. Our regional agriculture needs machine operators, electricians, produce processing technologists, etc. Any young specialist is granted a full package of social benefits; most employers also provide lodging or pay for its rent.
