Delegation of Scholars from ASU Visits Skolkovo Innovation Center in Moscow
A group of key researchers of Astrakhan State University has visited the Skolkovo Innovation Center located near Moscow. It was Dr. Alexey Rybakov (Director of our Institute of Researches & Solutions to Technological Tasks), Dr. Denis Zholobov (Dean of our Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies), Dr. Nikolay Vybornov (Dean of our Department of Physics & Technology), and Dr. Olga Vorontsova (Chief of our Collective Application Center to Create Multimedia Content with Virtual Reality Elements) who have visited this national innovative center.
During their trip, the four delegates have met Mr. Renat Batyrov, General Director of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, to discuss further cooperation between this Center and Astrakhan State University. They have discussed funding and grants to back developments by our University’s faculty and students, which could be provided by the Skolkovo Center, to involve our students in national events that are arranged by this Center, and to develop joint projects in the field of Robotics, IT, and energy saving. Our Collective Application Center to Create Multimedia Content with Virtual Reality Elements has been of special interest for the General Director.
Our delegation has visited the Russian Quantum Center, as well as the Hypercube (one of the first facilities in the Skolkovo Center), which houses the educational site of the Open University Skolkovo. The delegates have also met the supervisor of the Skolkovo Robotics Section, thanks to which it has been decided that a group of students of ASU will take part in two hackathons (in Robotics and in industrial design) to be held as a part of the Skolkovo Robotics International Conference-2015. Our two people will take part in the Skolkovo industrial design hackathon already on March 20-22.
