Academic Drawing Exhibition

  In early March 2015, the Chair of Painting & Drawing of the Department of Architecture & Design of Astrakhan State University opened its artistic exhibition “Academic Drawing”.

An exposition including 20 artistic works by students of ASU studying the specializations “Architecture”, “Advertising Design”, and “Environmental Design & Interior Art” has been opened in the mirror hall of University Building #5. As our undergraduate students study the human anatomical structure in details, their drawings were dedicated mostly to this theme.

Anyone could see our students’ works aiming to represent a human being as a most complicated and a volumetric-spatial structure, which reveals human proportions, form, and individual characteristics. The range of their works includes mainly pictures of a naked model or copies of works by famous artists. Many works have been painted with a soft material: charcoal, sepia, retouch, sanguine, sauce, and pastel.
