Our Students’ Competition in Strength Sports

The School of Sports, Physical Development, & Healthy Lifestyle operating at Astrakhan State University has arranged a competition in two types of weightlifting for our students.

Nine students have taken part in the event. All of them had to do two weightlifting exercises: a bench press and a deadlift with the maximal weight. Each of the participants had three attempts. It became possible to determine the winners only after their hard struggle. It was Sahil Abbasli, a student of our Department of World Economy & Management, who has taken the 1st place. The 2nd place has been won by Ramis Ibragimov from the same Department; the 3rd place has been gained by Victor Syasnev and Vladislav Vysochin (they both study at the Law Department).

Mr. Sergey Popov, Director of the School, has been the main referee; Mr. Alexey Chelyakov, his Deputy, has acted as his assistant.

As a result of the competition, the winners have been granted letters of commendation and vouchers for free visits to the gym apparatus facility at our University.
