Our Foreign Students See Sights of Astrakhan

Foreign students who study at our Department of Preliminary Education of Foreign Citizens have been on an excursion in the central part of Astrakhan. The severe Russian winter did not become an obstacle for citizens of Ghana, Nigeria, and Syria, as it was very interesting for them to see central Astrakhan’s sights: the Philharmonic, the Brothers’ Garden, the Volga Quay, and, of course, the Astrakhan Kremlin.

Unique architecture of central streets of our city has impressed our students, and their cameras made pictures without breaks. On their way to the Astrakhan Kremlin, they stayed in the Brothers’ Garden for quite a long time; they were told about memorable events of World War Two, in honor of which the Eternal Fire was lit and the Commemoration Stele was erected in the Garden.

Then our students visited the Astrakhan Kremlin; they were amazed with its beauty and magnificence. The Assumption Cathedral was particularly impressive for them, especially its Upper Temple with its smart interior.

At the end of their excursion, our students went to the Volga Quay, where they could watch a splendid ice panorama and enjoy a long walking area several kilometers long.

The students will go to another excursion in early March, which will present them other sights of our city.
