Our Trade Union’s Charity Activities

Every time before the New Year, the Trade Union of Astrakhan State University arranges a special event for elderly people “May Old Years Be Happy”. This event aims to help lonely elderly people who live in retirement homes. This year, 279 elderly women and men have warmly been congratulated on the upcoming holiday.
During a month, students of our University brought their gifts: candies, warm clothes, New-Year toys, and, of course, a particle of love and respect towards elderly people in their congratulations expressed in 300 congratulation cards with their sincerest wishes, which were made by hand.
The event has been held throughout the whole holiday period. Besides residents of retirement homes, holiday gifts have been presented to veterans of war and labor, as well as to kids living in one of Astrakhan’s orphan asylums.
