ASU Arranges Charity New Year Tree for Kids

Faculty staff and students of Astrakhan State University have arranged a charity concert for children. It was our Department of Pedagogics, Social Work, & Physical Training that has organized this event for children from low-income families and for orphans, as well as for kids with special needs.

On December 22, our students wearing fairy-tale characters’ costumes met kids to involve them in numerous funny games. After such an amusing beginning, the little guests watched a really fairy tale whose name was “New-Year Adventures in Magic Forest” with a whole number of well-known characters.

The event has been directed by Mr. Alexey Matveev, Director of the Astrakhan Drama Theater and a faculty staff member of ASU. The roles have been played by students of the Department of Pedagogics, Social Work, & Physical Training of Astrakhan State University – Alexander Borodin, Valeria Temnikova, Olga Vorontseva, Ivan Ilyin, Yulia Zhigulskaya, Alexey Zhigulsky, Vassily Nesterenko, Roman Adamyan, and Erbol Shurayev.

At the end of the fairy tale, the most important New-Year meeting has been arranged for our little guests – a meeting with Ded Moroz (Russian Santa Claus) and his magic granddaughter Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden). The kids danced round dances around the New Year Tree with them and sang their favorite New-Year songs. Yet, that were not all the pleasant surprises for our little guests. Each of them got a soft toy as a present. Our Department of Pedagogics, Social Work, & Physical Training arranged a special event before this holiday concert – “Donate a Toy for a Kid”, and many students and professors of our University have joined it.

The holiday concert has been organized by the Department of Social Work, & Physical Training of Astrakhan State University at the request of the Ministry of Social Development & Labor of Astrakhan Region.
