“Hunger Games of Business” Finished at ASU
The business game “Hunger Games of Business” has been held for four days at Astrakhan State University. The event has been arranged as a part of the program “Your Are Entrepreneur of Astrakhan Region”. Seventeen students’ teams from different Departments of ASU have taken part in it.
The business game has officially been opened at the Assembly Hall of ASU. The team captains had to take part in a contest, during which they could earn extra scores for their teams by answering the presenter’s questions. During all the four days, the game participants had to take part in trainings and lectures given by business people; they were supervised by their mentors and carried out tasks set by the jurors. They also tried to win the audience’s sympathies by earning scores obtained as a result of the audience’s voting. It was a presentation of business ideas by each of the 17 teams that has become the main part of the whole event. The presentation could be given in a free form; the game participants could use any tools to impress the jurors. At the final stage of the “Hunger Games of Business”, the participants had to give a final presentation, when their business ideas were subjected to a crash test.
The wide range of business projects presented by the event participants includes a virtual fitting room, a quest room for “special kids”, a dwelling and communal services agency, an Internet shop, a carting club, a café for a healthy body and soul, etc.
According to Ekaterina Nikonova, Rector’s Counselor for Youth-Related Policy, “Such events are necessary to form young people’s entrepreneurial thinking. Our students have presented so many business ideas and projects. I think some of them will be real entrepreneurs. It’s so pleasant that the presented business ideas are so versatile – from rabbit breeding to a water park”.
The team of the Agrarian Department has presented their business idea “Efficient Application of Wastes of Vegetable Processing Plants as Food Additives to Feed Agricultural Birds”; they have earned 86 scores and won the 3rd place. As for the 2nd place, it has been gained by the team of the Department of Physics & Technology, which has gained 90 scores for their idea “Robot the Floriculturist”. The contest has been won by the team of the Department of Business & Economy, which has earned 92 scores with its idea “First Covered Water Park in Astrakhan”. each member of the top three teams has got an individual prize – a modern gadget. Besides, 13 trips to business forums among Astrakhan Region’s best young entrepreneurs and federal experts in business have been raffled.
