Online Discussion of Pedagogical Issues

People of Astrakhan State University have taken part in the International Network Scientific Conference arranged by the Russian Academy of Education “Integrated Pedagogical Process as Object of Pedagogues’ Professional Activities”.

The Conference has united numerous pedagogues from Russia and Belarus. It has been broadcast from Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University.

Issues and prospects of pedagogical professional development have been under consideration at this event. Its plenary sessions concerned pedagogues’ communicative competencies, language culture and behavior. The themes of the reports given there were “Scientific Schools of Russian Pedagogues”, “Future Pedagogues’ Communicative Competencies”, “Psychological Culture of Pedagogues”, “Primary Education as Essential Value”, etc.

As for our University, reps of our Department of Pedagogics, Social Work and Physical Training have given their reports at the Conference. Dr. Galina Palatkina, Dean of the Department, has given her report “Social and Cultural Security of University Educational Space within Multicultural Region”; it has reflected relevant present-day issues of Russia’s multicultural society. The Dean has revealed aspects of the public’s social and cultural security; she has emphasized the crucial role played by an educational institution not only in a secure educational process, but also in training specialists capable of performing their social and cultural activities within the multicultural Russian society.

As for Dr. Regina Smirnova, Head of our Chair of Social Pedagogics and Psychology, she has suggested discussion of a number of issues related to the social and cultural security and development of multicultural education in Russia, to development of a society of inclusive culture, to the cultural focus of future pedagogues’ professional education, to application of the cultural assimilator method to train future social workers, and to operation of social and cultural adaptation system at an educational institution.

At the end of the Plenary Session, Ms. Victoria Kuznetsova from the Astrakhan Regional Center of Children’s and Youth’s Creative Development has given the master class “Around the World”, which concerned ways to form kids’ multicultural competencies by means of graphic and decorative activities.
