Students’ Contribution to Patriotic Upbringing

In middle October 2015, reps of the Historical Department of Astrakhan State University have taken part in the 2nd National Student Forum “Russia Is Our House” held in the Siberian city of Irkutsk.

The Forum has been established by Irkutsk National Research Technical University; it has been arranged thanks to support by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Siberian Federal District, by the Government of Irkutsk Region, and by the Russian Center for Patriotic Upbringing of Children and Youth.

As for our University, it has been represented by Yulia Karpova and Nikolay Orlenko, students of the Historical Department. The Forum agenda has included three section meetings: “Student Clubs of Patriotic Character”, “Volunteering and Citizens’ Patriotism”, and “Projects Constructor”. Reps of ASU have been discussing projects, programs, and events related to upbringing of patriotism with their peers.

The entertaining part of the event agenda has included an excursion of Irkutsk sights and a tour to Lake Baikal, as well as a splendid concert arranged by the host party.
