Discussing Education Quality Enhancement within International Scale

The International Student Forum “Students’ New Role in Educational Processes Quality Enhancement” has been opened at Astrakhan State University.

The event has united over 100 reps of universities from all over Russia and nearby countries.

The Plenary Session has passed very quickly and promptly: some key speakers have announced the upcoming meetings and accentuated their main goals and tasks. In particular, our students have told the audience about organizational studies at our University, about our professors sharing their experience with their students, about the development of an open educational environment, and about introduction of new tools to develop modern education in engineering. As for Sanan Gamidov, Director of our Unit of Strategic Planning & Student Projects Management, he has emphasized characteristics of a student holding as a supporting environment to form students’ leadership qualities by setting up an efficient communication and by applying teamwork skills. Denis Akhapkin, Director of the Center for Writing & Critical Thinking of Saint Petersburg State University, has shared his views on application of modern cognitive technologies and tools to teach university students.

Rustam Gaynullin, Director of the Agency for Youth-Related Affairs of Astrakhan Region, has been a distinguished guest at the Forum. Having welcomed the audience, he has remarked that the student age is the final stage of becoming a mature, socialized, and well-developed person, that this period is the peak of one’s creativity. “Despite frequent critics, we now see positive tendencies in the educational system development”, Mr. Gaynullin pointed out. “Students contribute to that considerably, as they stimulate progress. Of course, not all of their ideas are that creative and practically applicable, but any initiative is of great value for both students and their professors. I wish you all good luck and success!”

During the next two days, the Forum participants are to take part in discussions, sessions, and master classes, where they will consider each and every aspect of education quality enhancement under modern conditions.
