Congratulations to Professor Usmanov on Anniversary!

The Administration, the Department of Social Communications, and the Chair of Political Science & International Relations of Astrakhan State University congratulate Professor Rafik Khammatovich USMANOV on his 60th anniversary.

Prof. Usmanov is Head of our Chair of Political Science & International Relations; he supervises our PhD programs “Political Institutes, Processes, & Technologies” and “Political Issues of International Relations, Global & Regional Development”. He also heads our dissertation council where PhD and D.Sc. theses can be defended either in Political Institutions, Processes, & Technologies, or in Theory & History of Culture. He is also a member of a dissertation council at Kuban State University in Krasnodar, an expert of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation in Political Science; he chairs the Astrakhan Branch of the Russian Political Science Association, a member of editorial boards of a whole number of scientific journals. Prof. Usmanov is Assistant of Chairperson of the Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (the Upper Chamber of the Russian Federal Parliament).

Professor Usmanov’s colleagues and the University Administration highly appreciate his profound pedagogical, research, and organizational experience. Prof. Usmanov is an Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, a Full Member of the Academy of Political Sciences, and a laureate of the 2007 contest for the best scientific book. He has published over 170 research papers, including 10 monographs and 2 patents; he is a veteran of labor awarded with the medal “For Labor Valor” and with numerous letters of commendation.

Professor Usmanov is a real erudite, a good and reliable friend, a clever colleague, a demanding professor and manager, and a pleasant and a wise man.
