Students of ASU Participate in National Contest in Economics
Students of Astrakhan State University’s Department of World Economy & Management have taken part in the recent Internet contest in Microeconomics and in Macroeconomics that is traditionally arranged by the Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg.
During this contest, our students have demonstrated their excellent knowledge of Economics and taken the 2nd place in the team event in Microeconomics and the 3rd place in the individual event.
202 students from 11 Russian universities have taken part in the contest this year. Ildar Uteev, a student of ASU and a participant of the recent contest, shares his impressions: “I took part in three contests in Macro- and Microeconomics during the 4 years of my studies at ASU. It was my professors who advised me to take part in them. Our team gets prizes every year. A contest is a means to get new knowledge, because any task it sets us implies several ways to tackle it. A participant has to find the simplest and the most efficient one. I think an ability to tackle complicated and untypical logical tasks is a really crucial skill that our alma mater teaches us. That’s a great chance for you to present yourself. Our University gives us good tools for our self-development”.
Alina Koshmanova, who has also taken part in the recent contest, says: “That’s been very interesting for me to take part in this contest that was organized by the Higher School of Economics, to try to apply our knowledge and ability to find the right solution quickly. Thanks to this contest, I gained experience of participation in a scientific event. When I talked with my peers at the contest, I learnt a lot about Micro- and Macroeconomics”.
The Department of World Economy & Management wishes the participants and the winners of the recent contest further progress and new achievements!
