Lectures in Economics by US Professor at Astrakhan State University
In early June 2015, Dr. Arkady Shemyakin from the University of St. Thomas has given a block of lectures at the Department of World Economy & Management of Astrakhan State University.
The distinguished guest’s lectures concern application of Monte Carlo integration in Mathematics of Finance. Using the interactive lecturing method to communicate with his audience, the professor has demonstrated how to tackle economical tasks related to financial modeling.
Dr. Shemyakin has been cooperating with our University for a long time. He has been a United States resident since 1995; he lectures at the University of St. Thomas located in Saint Paul (Minnesota, USA). He is a faculty staff member of the Department of Mathematics and undertakes his researches in the field of Statistics. In 2011 and 2012, he took part in the joint American-Russian research project “Statistic Analysis of Financial Data” that was carried out at Astrakhan State University.
