Scientific Conference at Department of Geology & Geography of ASU

The Regional Conference for Secondary School Students “Regional Studies: Development Issues & Prospects” has been held at the Department of Geology & Geography of Astrakhan State University. It has included a workshop by the Astrakhan Regional School Geographical Society and the round table for teachers “Geography & Nature Management in Modern World”.
Over 200 young geographers and their teachers have taken part in the Conference. The participants have discussed issues of the modern geographical education and shared their experience of research activities. Students of our Department of Geology & Geography have given their reports and presentations that concerned their overall research and public activities in the field of Geography, Ecology, and environmental protection. Besides, a whole exhibition of photos and paintings portraying Astrakhan Region has been arranged at the Conference venue.
All the participants have been granted certificates of the Russian Geographical Society; besides, all the teachers who have participated in the event have received letters of commendation.
