Chancellor of University of Mazandaran (Iran) Visits ASU

Today Dr. Fakhroldin Asghari Aghmashhadi, Chancellor of the University of Mazandaran (northern Iran), has paid an official visit to Astrakhan State University.
This is already the second visit of the distinguished guest from Iran to our University. His current visit aimed to discuss further cooperation in the field of education and scientific researches. As a result of the bilateral negotiations, agreements to realize a program of students’ and professors’ academic exchange have been reached and signed.
Students of our Department of Foreign Languages, who study Farsi, have also met the Iranian guest. The meeting has been held in a friendly and a warm atmosphere; our students have told the Chancellor about their progress in studying Farsi; they have recited classical Persian poetry in the original, demonstrating their proficiency in their guest’s native language. According to Prof. Alexander Lunyov, Rector of Astrakhan State University, “Prospects of cooperation between the University of Mazandaran and ASU promote our status in the Caspian Sea Region and contribute to our students’ career opportunities”.
